Neath Rugby Offer Tag Rugby at Discover Wales Event

Neath Rugby are offering locals the opportunity to rub shoulders with their latest crop of the players at Neath Port Talbot's Discover Wales event at Margam Castle this Sunday, July 5th.

The Swalec Cup champions will offer rugby stars of the future the chance to be part of rugby tag and skills sessions on a makeshift rugby field at Margam Park.

New Welsh International signings Kevin Morgan, Nathan Thomas and Nathan Brew will be in attendance together with the new look coaching setup of Patrick Horgan, Steve Williams and Leigh Davies.

Tag rugby sessions will commence at 11am with children asked to make their way to the rugby field when they arrive at the festival to book themselves in for a session of sporty fun with the Neath boys.

The council run event, which is part of the Margam Festival of Music and Arts will offer something for the whole family with farmers markets, welsh crafts, storytelling, music workshops, folk dancing and of course the chance to meet with members of the new look Neath Rugby squad.

Quote from Patrick Horgan, Neath Rugby coach:
As a squad it is important for us to be involved in community events, such as the Discover Wales festival.
Sunday will give us an opportunity to get out there and promote what Neath Rugby is all about and for us to make an impression on stars of the future.

Deenna Barton, Commercial Manager at Neath Rugby said:
"We are delighted to be part of the first Discover Wales festival at Margam Park.
The event is set to be a great family day out and for Neath Rugby this will be an opportunity for local people to meet with some familiar faces and our new signings.
We are sure the event will be a great success and hope it is well supported by the local community."
Cabinet Member Mike James for Community and Leisure Services in Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council said:
"We are very excited to be organising our very first Discover Wales - a Welsh Day at Margam Park as part of the Margam Festival. With so many things to see and take part in on the day, it is going to be one of the highlights to kick start the Margam Festival 2009".
