Neath Rugby call out to budding song writers to pen some new lyrics for a club song.
Neath Rugby are looking forward to the 2009/10 season, competing in the Principality Premiership, SWALEC Cup and a brand new exciting Cross Border Competition which will see the Neath Rugby brand exposed to an even wider audience.
With more visitors coming to the Gnoll than ever before this season the club are calling on fans or budding song writers to come up with lyrics and music for a Neath Rugby song that can be sung at matches to support the boys in black.
The Welsh All Blacks are famous for their Neath Neath Neath chant and songs such as Bully Bully, Black Betty and Back in Black have always been popular in the Gnoll terraces.
However with Munster, Bristol and Coventry set to bring record crowds to the Gnoll for the British and Irish Cup Competition Neath Rugby wants to ensure that the Neath faithful can be heard loud and proud singing an anthem that has meaning, to give the Neath Rugby 15 that extra edge when it matters.
Quote from Neath coach Patrick Horgan:
"The 2009/10 season is set to be our most exciting yet and the British and Irish Cup will see teams returning to Neath Rugby after many years away, which is why we must turn the Gnoll into a fortress so they feel like they've never been away!
We want to make people even more passionate on a matchday and the Neath Neath Neath chant has been a huge part of identity for decades. What we want to create is a buzz, with people singing and chanting to get behind the boys on a matchday, and we are confident the community of Neath can help."
Supporters are asked to send their suggested lyrics into Neath Rugby by email or post by July 24th so the club can produce a book of All Blacks songs for supporters before the start of the 2009/10 season campaign.
