New Neath Number 10 Matthew Jarvis makes history at the Gnoll

4th September 2008
NEW Neath Recruit Matthew Jarvis is looking forward to the start of the champions campaign but family members seem to be even more delighted that the number 10 has joined the Welsh All Blacks.
18 year old Matthew is not the only Jarvis to have pulled on a Neath jersey, his dad Richard played centre/wing at the Gnoll during the late 80s and grandfather Gareth played hooker for the blacks way back in the 1960's.
Matthew commented:
"Obviously it's great to be playing for Neath but to be part of history makes its extra special, according to club records 3 generations have played for the club before, but I don't think it happens very often! "
Dad Richard commented:
"It's always fantastic to see you son develop but its something special for him to play for the same club that both my father and I have such fond memories from."
