Champions v Champions for Snid fundraising event.
Double Champs Neath Rugby will play Division 5 West champions Burry Port in a fundraising game for Gareth ‘Snid' Jones.
The game will take place on Saturday 2nd August at the Burry Port Memorial Park, kicking off at 1.30pm.
Neath flanker Gareth Gravell, a Burry Port boy suggested to his former club that they warm up for their forthcoming season in division 4 with a friendly against the All Blacks.
The club have agreed to host the match on the understanding that proceedings from the game are given to the family of Gareth Jones who passed away last month after failing to recover from a broken neck sustained in April during a game against Cardiff.
The Pembrey club have also organised a raffle, live music after the match and a BBQ for all to enjoy,
and after Neath players took part in the Great Welsh Run last weekend, fundraising for Snid's family is top priority and is doubling up as great pre season training for the Neath boys!
Director of Rugby Rowland Phillips has said:
'After all the boys completed the Great Wales Run last weekend our attention now turns to fundrasing event number 2 with the challenge to rasie even more cash for Snid's children.
No doubt Bury Port RFC will give us a warm welcome and the team looks forward to seeing as many supporters there as possible.'
