Neath Prop snapped up by Guinness Premiership Side.

Neath Rugby can today reveal that Ross Davies has secured a 2 year contract with Guinness Premiership giants Sales Sharks.

The Gwent boy will leave Neath Rugby ahead of their pre season friendly against Saracens on August 7th after a successful term with Neath Rugby.

The 24 year old Welsh age grade product joined The Welsh All Blacks just one year ago from Irish Club side Galweigians.

Davies first pulled on the Neath jersey against Romania and soon established himself as an asset to the Neath Squad in their double season, developing continuously during the year.
Therefore it is no surprise that the mobile tighthead has been snapped up by such a successful club, and it is expected that he will go onto bigger and better things.

Ross will join a whole host of Welsh players at the Manchester based club, among them Dwayne Peel, Brent Cockbain, Lee Thomas, not to mention French flanker Sebastial Chabal.

Ross Davies said:
"I really enjoyed my year with Neath, the coaching staff were fantastic and the supporters always gave my that extra buzz on the field.
I would never have left Neath as a club but the lure of Heineken cup rugby with Sale Sharks was too much.
I'm really looking forward to the challenge ahead and wish Neath all the best for the new season."

Neath chairman Geraint Hawkes has said:

"This again shows that this clubs record of developing rugby players is second to none.
I remember sitting down with Ross at the end of last summer and explained that if he worked hard and showed complete dedication that Neath rugby would develop him into a quality tight head prop.
He took his opportunity with both hands and has been rewarded for all his efforts by being offered a professional contract with one of the top European sides.
I am pleased for Ross as I am for every player who steps up and wish him every success.
Neath is in the business of developing players for Wales and winning rugby matches and I am pleased to say that so far we are achieving both.
Next season will bring a new set of targets but be assured that our squad and all involved at the club are focused and looking forward to what will no doubt be another challenging season.
Good luck Ross, go for it."

Director of Rugby Rowland Phillips has said:

" As a club we wish Ross good luck in the next chapter of his rugby career.
His ability and consistency throughout the season was a major contribution to success we had and to be given an opportunity at a higher level again reinforces the good work and opportunities that Neath continue to provide.
It will be a big step for Ross in a fully professional environment but its one I'm confident he will adapt to and enjoy.
Good luck mate, do us proud."
