Neath record convincing bonus point win against Bedwas to get season back on track.
Bedwas had a chance to open the scoring with a penalty, but Stuart Thomas's attempt went wide.
In a scrappy opening quarter the visitors got the first try of the evening, through Gethin Morgan which Stuart Thomas duly converted, to put Bedwas in front 7-0 after 15 minutes.
Neath responded quickly and Dai Evans scurried over for his first of the evening, which Arwel Thomas converted to tie the scores at 7 all.
Bedwas however continued to control the half and Williams added a drop goal to increase his tally. Although not exciting for the spectator, Neath's defence held firm and the half ended Neath 7 Bedwas 10.
Neath opened the second half in more sprightly fashion, Howard Thomas came desperately close to the line but dropped the ball. However Neath persisted and scored a fine try through centre Luke Ford, Arwel Thomas failed to add the penalty.
Neath began to up the tempo and scored again through hooker Ashleigh James, Arwel converted putting the home side in front by 9 points.
Bedwas back rower Deri Matravas was yellow carded which proved costly as Neath scored another, Stephen Thomas getting his first try of the season after returning, to get Neath the bonus point, Arwel converted to make it 20-10,centre Thomas crossed again in quick succession, for his second o the evening, Matty James missed with the conversion.
With Bedwas back to full strength they scored the final try of the game through captain Steve Gardner, converted by Thomas.
A convincing bonus point win in the end for the current champions, the game ended Neath 32 - Bedwas 17.
