In atrocious weather conditions Neath opened the scoring with a try from number 10 Arwel Thomas, in high winds the assistant coach failed with the conversion.
Neath forwards worked hard, pushing the Bridgend front 5 all over the park. Captain Lee Beach crossed for Neath's second and Thomas added the penalty.

Referee Jon Mason issued a yellow card to Bridgend flanker Matthew David and minutes later Neath flanker Lee Beach taking both sides down to 14 men.

Another David penalty put Bridgend in front for the first time, and Neath made a timely substitute by bringing on livewire Gareth James and backrowers James Merriman & Andy Llewellyn.
